Letter From the President

Ossining Historical Society Museum

Welcome!

From the President………

Dear Friends of the Ossining Historical Society Museum

The summer activities of the Museum include planning for our fall events and the maintenance/upkeep of our building and grounds. Our 88th Dinner and Silent Auction will take place on Thursday, October 24 at the Briarcliff Manor on Studio Hill Rd, in the Town of Ossining. Mark your calendar for an evening of fun! We request that you RSVP by October 14, 2019. This assists the committee in planning this event.

The late summer and early fall also kick off our annual Membership Drive. To our existing members, we will be mailing a packet containing two items. one is a reminder that the 2019/2020 dues are due October 1, 2019. A return envelope will be included for your convenience if paying by check. Please note, for existing members and for new members, that you have the option to pay online by simply navigating to our Membership page.

Lastly, our museum is housed in a building that was built in 1872. Like all old buildings, it needs constant care…and care means money. We know that the boiler is on it’s last leg and needs to be replaced. Repairs to the structure: rear stairs, window casements, interior painting… just to mention a few. The Board of Trustees, in an attempt to fund these repairs, will be sponsoring a 50/50 Raffle. For our existing membership, we have included a book of chances along with your dues reminder. For our non-members, please consider navigating to our Make a Donation Today! page to make your tax-deductible gift to the OHSM!

Sincerely, Joseph Burton President OHSM
